Atlantic Junction - Album Launch Concert *

23rd February 2023

This gig is for a seated audience.

Led by celebrated Blues guitarist Neville Marten, internationally acclaimed vocalist Sara Davey and keyboard player Adrian Nash, this ten piece band returns to the arts centre after their sell-out concert in August with a brand new album of blues and heritage pop music, as well as performing classic songs from previous releases.

“There is an enormous variety of material, and Sara has a beautiful voice, at times reminiscent of Shania Twain but seems to be able to cope with any style of song form the rockin ’Straight Line’ to the moving ‘Christmas in the Attic’. It’s a top production and excellent performances” - Sir Tim Rice

Neville Marten is a respected guitarist on the British blues scene and renowned music journalist. Having written his Blues Headlines column in Guitarist magazine for 20 years his last album release of the same name has been received with high critical acclaim.

”Neville is on top drawer form on the fretboard here. No empty display of chops, this is great guitar music, built right and performed beautifully” – Jamie Dickson, Future Publishing

“I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your CD. I love your playing, you have a heartfelt feel for the blues with good phrasing and serious chops, who could ask for anything more? You should be very proud of this CD it’s FAB!” - Hank Marvin

Sara Davey has vocal credits on dozens of film soundtracks including the Hunger Games, Harry Potter and Wonder Woman as well as many live collaborations that include Sam Smith, Jacob Collier, Goldie, Jamie Cullum, and Rumer. Originally from East Tennessee, Sara’s staggering vocal ability burst onto the world’s stage when she joined the Grammy award winning A Cappella group ‘The Swingles’ and performed at some of the most prestigious venues around the globe.

"Sara only has nice notes. She is effortless and lights up the stage. In anyone else this would be a nauseating amount of talent, but she gets away with it because she's so damn nice." – Gareth Malone

“Sara is a rare gem, a voice so gorgeous and free, she's in a category all her own. A coloratura that can swing, she moves sound to every corner of a room with her interchangeable, expressive voice. I'm a big fan" - Lauren Kinhan, New York Voices

Working with the studio band that ultimately became Atlantic Junction, Adrian Nash released his second solo album ‘Straight Lines’ last year with a flourish of classy ballads and upbeat pop-rock songs that feature lush melodic lines, rich chord sequences and thoughtful lyrics. Songs from this album, Neville’s Blues Headlines and the new Atlantic Junction release will all be performed at Colchester Arts Centre on 23rd February 2023.

“Adrian is a fantastic keyboard player and songwriter “– Marty Wilde

“Thank you for sending us the Straight Lines album. What a pleasure to listen to. This is one of the best examples of home-grown talent I have heard for as long as I can remember. The compositions are great works. Also, the tunes themselves are not predictable; lovely passing chords and great musicianship that fills the ears. Your and Sara’s voices fit together beautifully, and the blend, and harmonies are a delight. This album deserves national airplay” - Joe Paton DJ, Ride Radio
