Local Heroes Night 2: Phil Lyons + The Larks + Tony Winn + The Medlars *

A quadruple bill of local folk talent!

PHIL LYONS
Phil Lyons has been on the English folk scene since the 1970’s. He’s a versatile and accomplished singer-guitarist from Colchester, who always impresses when he performs. He has been heavily involved in French traditional music and dance since the 1990’s, performing at festivals and events in France and the UK but has always maintained a large British song repertoire “He is his own man, with a distinctive voice” LIVING TRADITION.

THE LARKS
Liz and Chris began singing together at Open Mic nights at The Bear Inn in Beyton in 2007, then named themselves the Larks and performed a growing number of songs at various venues in Norfolk and Suffolk. Their repertoire consists of an eclectic mix that they love and enjoy playing, to which they have been gradually adding their own sparkling folk-pop songs.

TONY WINN
Tony Winn is known and respected on the English acoustic music scene as a songwriter, poet and performer of a high calibre. Inspired by Dylan and the folk revival to start creating original music as a schoolboy, he’s since soaked up an eclectic range of musical influences resulting in an extensive live repertoire and seven album releases. “…writes magic songs, gentle and intelligent – almost too intelligent for the mainstream pop market” MAKING MUSIC.

THE MEDLARS
Folk trio hailing from East Anglia, performing songs and tunes originated and firmly rooted in the folk tradition. Alie Barnes - vocals, Tom Hardy - guitar and vocals, Emma Hardy - fiddle and vocals.
