We're delighted to present a double bill featuring two of the UK's leading jazz artists - pianist/composer Andrew McCormack and his band Graviton, and vocalist/harpist/composer Noemi Nuti.

“Without much fanfare, Andrew McCormack has built a diverse and versatile career which now deserves to be taken very seriously.” - London Jazz News.

“McCormack made the leap from Brixton to Brooklyn and took his playing to a whole new level." - Jazzwise.

Precociously talented pianist/composer Andrew first came to prominence in the new Millennium as a member of the game-changing Tomorrow's Warriors and, later, with reeds players Jason Yarde and Shabaka Hutchings.

Andrew debuted his formidable prog-jazz group, Graviton, in 2017, along with an eponymous album. A quintet that draws on his wide range of influences, it demonstrates his talents for composition as well as his captivating performances.

While the music evades clear category, the internationally acclaimed pianist and composer consistently challenges himself to explore new and very different musical styles as an artist.

Graviton's latest album, The Calling, has received widespread acclaim, including this quote from the respected Guardian/Jazzwise critic, John Fordham: ". . . this is contemporary jazz fuelled from the dance floor - but jazz is crucially and unmistakably alive and well in it nonetheless."

Whether appearing with Kyle Eastwood or Jamie Cullum, with a symphony orchestra or as a solo pianist, at outdoor festivals or an intimate club, you can always expect the highest level of performance from Andrew.

Featuring the stellar line-up of Noemi Nuti, Josh Arcoleo, Tom Herbert and Josh Blackmore, between them these musicians have worked and recorded with a diverse range of artists, including Tomorrow’s Warriors, Pee Wee Ellis, Snowpoet, Fred Wesley, Ginger Baker, Jamie Cullum, Troyka, Acoustic Ladyland and Polar Bear.

Andrew McCormack (Piano), Noemi Nuti (Vocals), Josh Arcoleo (Saxophone), Tom Herbert (Electric Bass), Josh Blackmore (Drums).

“When it comes to catching your attention, this is a singer who’s impossible to ignore.” - Peter Quinn, Jazzwise.

“Nuti’s voice is illuminating, fearlessly alive and accomplished, with a wide range of tone and style.” - Mike Gates, UK Vibe.

An erstwhile member of Graviton, harpist, vocalist and composer Noemi Nuti is also a successful artist in her own right, having released two critically acclaimed albums, 2015's Nice To Meet You and 2020's Venus Eye.

As she'll already be performing with Graviton, we thought it would be remise not to afford her the opportunity to showcase her talents as a band leader!

Born in New York of Italian parents and now living in London, Noemi sings in five languages, including English, Italian, French, Spanish and Portuguese. A former member of Pete Churchill's London Vocal Project, she is lead singer of British Samba band Rhythms of the City and also performs with an artist who made his debut at the club in 2021 - Brazilian guitarist/singer/composer Mario Bakuna.

Noemi Nuti (Harp/Vocals), Chris Eldred (Piano), Tom Herbert (Electric Bass).

“The highest level of musicianship you could possibly get together in one band.” - Jamie Cullum, BBC Radio 2
“Take a listen to Graviton. An indescribable new album. It’s certainly jazz, but not as we know it. Amazing stuff.” - Chris Phillips, Jazz FM

“Noemi Nuti beautifully combines the rhythmic heartbeat of Brazil with the improvisational soul of jazz.” - Peter Quinn, Jazzwise

“Such a fine, unusual and adventurous record. Congratulations Andrew. Want to hear this live!” - Jez Nelson, Somethin' Else

“Melodically generous . . . from ethereal Jarrett-like introspection to rhythmically dynamic dances . . . impressive.” - Downbeat

“Noemi is one artist you will be hearing a lot of in the future.” - Anthony Steinberg, Jazz Views
