“One for the jazz dance clubs,” said  BBC Radio 6’s Gilles Peterson of Internationally renowned and critically acclaimed vocalist, songwriter, composer and broadcaster Emily Saunders, while Mark Snowboy Cotgrove dubbed her “the UK’s Queen of Jazz Fusion”.

What sets Emily apart is that her musical skill in front of the mic is matched with talent behind it. She balances virtuosity and captivating presence with musicianship of the highest order, establishing her not only as a rhythmically inventive jazz vocalist, but a supremely talented songwriter, who takes any stage by storm, leading an exceptional band of stellar musicians through her spellbinding set of original songs.

As a socially conscious wordsmith, many of Emily's songs reflect on society, the fragility of people and the strength of connectivity, oozing hazy sunshiny days and hot sultry nights.

Having evolved from seaside holidays, riverside walks and chilled evenings on piano and guitar, Emily combines a heady mix of Latin-infused, hip-swaying grooves, with driving bass lines, infectious melodies, and touches of Drum ‘n’ Bass.

Emily’s previous albums - ‘Cotton Skies’, ‘Outsiders Insiders’ and ‘All As One’ - have sold worldwide, receiving multiple four star reviews, including from the Evening Standard, The Guardian, The Independent, and The Daily Telegraph’s 'Best Of'. Her music broadcasts include nationally on BBC Radio 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6, JazzFM, plus extensively worldwide, with many international iTunes & Amazon chart ‘Top 10s’.

Along with special songs from her previous releases, Emily will be performing material from her eagerly awaited forthcoming 2021 CD, Broken, which flings open the doors to welcome the summer sun, with its upbeat, pulsating, driving, dance-infused Brazilian-inflected groove.
