"Law is one of the UK’s most distinctive guitarists and this album will further enhance his reputation as both a musician and a composer,” wrote The JazzMann when reviewing Life I Know.

Described as ‘an innovator’ and ‘a game changer’ by The Guardian, exciting young guitarist Ant Law was last here in 2016, when he guested with Partikel, and was also featured on their third album, the critically acclaimed Counteraction.

Born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from a young age Ant was exposed to early blues and rock 'n' roll, as well as Arabic music, and throughout his teens he gravitated towards the guitar.

A history teacher gave him a video of Stevie Ray Vaughan, which was to become a huge influence, along with videos of Guns 'n' Roses, Queen and, later, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.

While studying at the famed Berklee College of Music, Boston, Ant had his first encounter with gospel music and gospel drummers, and Latin American music, later becoming obsessed with jazz.

Ant released his debut album, Entanglement, in 2013. This was followed by 2015’s Zero Sum World and Life I Know in 2018. All garnered a plethora of plaudits from the jazz press.

With wide-ranging influences that embrace jazz, rock, blues, World and contemporary classical music, these elements are reflected in Ant's writing which, while often complex, remain highly rhythmic and pleasingly accessible.

A member of Trio HLK, who record and tour with Dame Evelyn Glennie, Ant has also worked with saxophonist Tim Garland and keyboardist Cory Henry.

Ant Law (Acoustic/Electric Guitar), Mike Chillingworth (Saxophone), Ferg Ireland (Double Bass), Marc Michel (Drums).

"Ant Law deserves a lot of attention.  He is not only a great guitarist who plays from a broad musical spectrum, he is also a strong composer who shows great growth with every album." - Written In Music, Holland

". . . a procession of shifting moods and textures, from sax growls and sizzling guitar." - The Scotsman

"Packed with imaginative writing and excellent playing, Life I Know is a tightly focussed piece of work . . . where everybody knows their roles and fulfils them admirably.” - The JazzMann

“Terrific and highly accomplished." - The Jazz Breakfast (UK)

"Without hesitation, this is another of the best albums, the best of 2018." - Opinion Y Noticias, Venezuela
