The Prettiest Starman (One Year On)

This gig is for a standing audience.

5 days after what would have been his 70th birthday and 3 days after the first anniversary of his death, Friday 13th January 2017 sees the next instalment of The Prettiest Starman, a sometimes moving, but mainly joyous and uplifting celebration of the genius of DAVID BOWIE.

Anton Pace (The Judith Charmers, Race with the Devil), Paul Rutterford (The Judith Charmers, The Fabs, Strum ‘n’ Bass), Nelson Nice (Surfquake, Park & Ride, Strum ‘n’ Bass, The Hosepipe Band) and Cara Bruns (Surfquake, Park & Ride, The Hosepipe Band) will once again perform some of his best-loved songs. Singing along is actively encouraged. The songs are the stars of this show, not the individuals on stage. If the previous sold-out Prettiest Starman events are anything to go by, this will be a brilliant and unmissable night.

DJ Ben Howard will be providing all the Bowie you can handle in between the live sets, and images of David will play out on the big screens throughout the evening – we couldn’t possibly host a Bowie night without him being there one way or another.
So come along, sing your hearts out, dress up if you like – but mainly, just get here!
Anton, Paul, Nelson and Cara would all love to watch the show as well, but as they can’t, they have a cunning plan… They would love you to film as many of the songs as you want to on your smartphones or cameras and then share with Anton via Messenger or WhatsApp. Anton will then create a compilation movie of any songs filmed (hopefully all of them). The first 50 people to provide him with some footage (along with your address) via Messenger or WhatsApp, will receive a copy of the movie on DVD absolutely free, so that you too will have a lasting memory of the evening. Don’t fret if you’re not one of the first 50 – the movie will be made available via download also. And anyone who provides film will be credited as ‘cameramen and women’ on the DVD and download file too!

Let’s remember this brilliant artiste together. As if we could ever forget.
If we can sparkle he may land tonight…
