Control Voltage - Analogue Synth Night!

Control Voltage - Analogue Synth Night!

26th August 2021

Southend's popular night dedicated to the synapse-tickling, knob-twiddling delights of analogue synth comes to Colchester for a one-off evening, featuring 6 acts playing short sets. Some familiar and not so familiar names and maybe the odd surprise guest...

USRNM (pronounced Username) is a musical project by sound artist and musician Stuart Bowditch. Where as his previous works have been focused on the real world, responding to location, local communities and the sounds of everyday objects, USRNM delves into the virtual world of the internet, technology and machines for its inspiration.

(featuring Brendan O'Hare of Mogwai and Teenage Fanclub)
Fiend is the solo-based project of Brendan O'Hare, whose first taste of fame was as the drummer for Teenage Fanclub. He recorded these psychedelic musings during the '90s while a member of Telstar Ponies and during a short stint in Mogwai during the making of the Mogwai Young Team album.

emi-improvised swirling synths, distorted tape loops and distant field recordings from Electronic Noise/Drone/Ambient guise of ex-La Muerte bassist Daniel Clough.

New project of Alastair Johnson, of Alien and Masal. Overlord of the excellent Ship Full Of Bombs internet radio station.

DHANGSHA produces dark, edgy soundscapes where alien call and response patterns mutate over sparse but heavy beats. His remit is to explore minimalism, repetition and fragmentation and the potential for experimental noise to convey political sentiment.

Two blokes called Steve making a semi-improvised noise. Davis and O'Malley bludgeon you with sound in this their first live outing.
