Yorkston Thorne Khan

CANCELLED
This gig has been cancelled due to a band member not being able to obtain a UK visa. A statement from the band reads:

"Due to seemingly insurmountable Visa issues, Suhail Yusuf Khan is no longer able to perform on the Yorkston / Thorne / Khan tour of May to June 2022. My apologies to each of you who will be affected by this. I have promoted a good number of shows myself, under the Tae Sup wi' a Fifer banner, and I know how frustrating it is when an act pulls out.
Suhail has tried hard to make this work, including bringing in the University immigration lawyers to help with the situation, but unfortunately this was not successful. We sincerely apologise to all concerned and hope to see you somewhere along the road”

Ticketholders will be contacted regarding refunds.

This gig is for a seated audience.

Yorkston Thorne Khan are songwriter James Yorkston (guitar, nyckelharpa, voice), jazz musician Jon Thorne (double bass, voice) and 8th generation sarangi player and vocalist Suhail Yusuf Khan.

Meeting by chance backstage in 2015 and playing together ever since, Yorkston Thorne Khan’s musical explorations are well-informed by their rich musical heritage but never reverential, preferring to run with an energy and fun that pushes them to new ground, Rolling Stone calling their Neuk Wight Delhi All-Stars album “a game changing masterpiece”.

YTK have toured substantially around Europe and India, and as both the jazz and the Indian classical music worlds are renowned for their improvisation, it’s no surprise Yorkston Thorne Khan continue to tease the set structures of their material throughout, leaving every performance fresh and inspired.

Tickets £13 / £12 concessions.
Doors open 7.30pm, starts 8pm.
