Rag Mama Rag *

Rag Mama Rag play a variety of American music from the 1920s, 30s and 40s encompassing different styles of Country, Blues, Ragtime Blues, Mississippi Bluesy and their own compositions. To do this they use a range of guitars, acoustic guitar, Hawaiian guitar, resonator guitar, ukulele, plus different types of percussion and harmonicas. You may have heard tracks from their CDs being played on The Paul Jones BBC2 radio show, on The Mark Radcliffe show and the Mike Harding show.

Support: Stan Harvey
Stan performs American Folk and Country both old and new, drawing on the best from the song writers of the ‘40s and 50’s (Woody Guthrie, Jack Elliott), right up to the present day (Tod Snider, Guy Clark). He accompanies himself on guitar but always chooses songs that stand up on their own without fancy instrumentation. “I like to let the song do the work. A good melodic song with strong vocals is what people remember most.”Stan has been a semi-regular performer at the club over the years with groups such as Trilogy, Jugfolk and Economy Seven while at the same time playing in several Rock, Pop and Country bands during a busy fifty-year musical career.
