9th January 2020

South Lanes After Dark Cinema Club presents David Lynch's timeless classic- Blue Velvet. During its initial release in 1986 many critics found the film's sexually violent content objectionable. However, earning Lynch his second Academy Award nomination for Best Director, and in 2008 being classified by The American Film Institute as one of the greatest American mystery films ever made, Blue Velvet has risen to cult status.

The film stars Kyle MacLachlan as unsuspecting student Jeffrey, who, upon discovering a mutilated ear in a field, goes on to uncover a large underground criminal conspiracy amidst his seemingly safe suburban hometown. Things become more complicated when he gets involved with the beautiful, yet unstable, nightclub singer Dorothy Vallens (Isabella Rossellini). But how do all these pieces fit together? The neo-noir-meets-psychological-horror mystery unravels itself in a surreal nightmarish world where nothing is as it seems.
