Featuring films in categories like Women Filmmakers, Ethnographics Films, Disabled Filmmakers, and Emerging Filmmakers, this event gives a platform to unheard voices in the film industry and showcases unique and important films that audiences would struggle to see elsewhere.
Essex DocFest is an international documentary film festival that gives a platform to important stories in a sustainable way that benefits filmmakers, audiences, and, most importantly, the people whose stories are being told. Started in March 2020, it has been a purely online festival so far, attracting filmmakers from all corners of the world.
In the year when the Mayor is celebrating diversity and inclusion in the city of Colchester, this event opens up a timely window into the lives of people with a broad range of valuable life experiences.
