Yet again artists appearing at the Colchester Folk Club have featured at the prestigious BBC Folk Awards!

The nominations for 2016 were announced last night on BBC Radio 2 and the existing holders of the Best Duo Award, Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin, are again amongst the nominees for Best Duo. They perform for us on Monday 15th February - this coming Monday.

Two of the other nominees for best duo are appearing at the folk club later in the year, Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman on 18th April and Gilmore and Roberts in October. Huge congratulations are also due to Sam Kelly who entertained the folk club right royally last Monday in the band The Changing Room. Sam has been nominated for The Horizon Award as Best Newcomer.

Andy Cutting, maestro of the melodeon has a nomination for Musician Of The Year, his next appearance at the Arts Centre will be in June with Nancy Kerr and Martin Simpson.
