Fest En Fest: Memory Lab

Memory Lab - a participatory performance in darkness by choreographer Rani Nair.

A work that revolves around memories and dance. It explores how memories can live on and be embodied with the help of the audience. Participatory choreographies that shift our conceptions of canon and traditions, while at the same time, through the physical and immediate participation of the body, we experience a unique closeness to memories - both our own and others. It's also a continuation of her inheritance of the dance Dixit Dominus by Kurt Jooss and Lilavati. Join Rani post show for a short chat about this piece and her current work.

Rani Nair (SE/IN) work as a dancer and choreographer with a special interest in decolonial practices and postcolonial aesthetics. Her choreographies have been programmed at the Centre National de la Dance Paris, ImpulsTanz Vienna, Spielart festival Munich, Ignite! Festival of contemporary dance Delhi, Singapore International Festival of Arts, Gothenburg Dance- and Theatre festival and at the Swedish biennial for performing arts.
