Farmers Market *

5th April 2019

Colchester farmers market is about to get a makeover and we can’t wait to see the results! This monthly market, held in the Arts Centre, has been run for many years by volunteers at En-Form who, after years of hard work, have decided it’s time to pass on the baton to Suffolk Market Events.

Justine Paul, founder of this award winning local business is delighted to take on the running of the market and is excited about the relaunch on April 5th. “There’s nothing we like more than turning a struggling farmers’ market around and seeing it thrive again. The people of Colchester and surrounding areas deserve a really good quality food offering and that is exactly what we will be offering them. ”

Twenty producers are lined up to fill the venue on April 5th including raw milk, butter, fudge and cream from Collett’s Dairy in Wormingford, currently the only micro dairy in Essex, locally shot fresh venison from Lavenham Butchers, award winning bread and cakes from The Cake Shop Bakery in Woodbridge, Essex honey from Beehouse Honey Company and amazing gluten free bakes from Hopewell Bakery in Bures. Many of the regulars will, of course, be there too, including Daymen’s Hill Orchards, Wigborough Traditional Meats, organic vegetables from Lauriston farm, local sausages from Totham Bangers and Indian Food from Mena Boughey. There will be a small number of gorgeous handmade craft products and a fab Pop Up Café.

Everything that is sold at the farmers’ market will have been produced by the person who is selling so there are no middle men and all the stallholders will come from within a 30 mile radius – this really is shopping local at it’s very best and we very much look forward to seeing lots of very happy shoppers at the relaunch of Colchester farmers’ market on Friday April 5th from 9.30am until 2pm.
