Theatre of Widdershins: Rumpelstiltskin & The Snail of Destiny 1.30pm - AUDIO DESCRIBED

29th December 2019

THIS PERFORMANCE IS AUDIO DESCRIBED
Audio description is a verbal commentary that tells visually impaired audience members what is happening on the stage during the parts of the performance where there is no dialogue. The description does not interfere with the performance but fills in the gaps, describing facial expressions, costume, scenery and action sequences so that anyone with a visual impairment can follow the plot fully and independently. Headsets are provided.

Poor Polly Buckwheat, the Miller’s daughter, is in a bit of a pickle! If she doesn’t turn a roomful of straw into gold by morning, the greedy King will turn a bit nasty. But should she accept the kind help of an eccentric dwarf who mysteriously appears in her prison cell?

Of all the fairytale characters, Rumpelstiltskin has got to be the most mixed up. He is helpful yet demanding; secretive yet nosy; short yet owning a name as long as his beard. Not surprisingly, this story of transformation will make you laugh and gasp at the same time!

Using its trademark puppets, music, storytelling and transforming sets, Widdershins aims to create gold on stage with this new version of the Grimm’s classic tale.

All tickets £5.95.
Doors open 1.30pm, show starts 2pm.
