Virtuosity - In Aid Of MS-UK *

With special guests…
The Chris Allard Band - jazz
Ramon Goose and Modou Touré - world music
Daryl Kellie with Jon Hart - acoustic finger-style

The Chris Allard Band - www.chrisallard.co.uk
For Wivenhoe's own Chris Allard, it's probably easier to list the hurdles that Chris hasn't conquered yet rather than those he has!
Chris has played on TV (several times), the Royal Albert Hall, the O2 arena, Ronnie Scott's, The Jazz Cafe, radio, etc., etc., and is now back to Colchester Arts Centre, where he recently played his 'Invisible Landscape' CD to a packed house.
Chris will be playing with Oli Hayhurst (bass), Nick Smalley (drums and percussion) and Ross Stanley (keyboards and piano).

Ramon Goose & Modou Touré: West African Blues Project -
www.facebook.comwestafricanbluesproject
Another guy with local roots is Ramon Goose - a guitarist par excellence - who has teamed up with Modou Touré from Senegal to produce a real taste of World Music - you may remember Ramon
from the 'nu-blues' band when they stormed Europe with their modern take of roots style blues music and his most recent Master Classes.
For Ramon, this is the latest in a series of successful collaborations including with kora superstar Diabel Cissokho, blues singer Boo Boo Davies, James Brown’s saxophonist Alfred ‘Pee Wee’ Ellis, Louisiana legend Chris Thomas King, Eric Bibb and harmonica player Charlie Musslewhite.

Daryl Kellie/Jon Hart: 'Set Adrift' - www.darylkellie.com + www.jonhartmusic.com
Daryl Kellie and Jon Hart have had to be specially imported from Hampshire and London - Wivenhoe and Colchester can't boast they have all the stars yet!
What started off as a collaborative idea to write a few songs on a houseboat, resulted in a 5-day tour on the River Thames and an album's worth
of material. The resultant album, 'Set Adrift', is a combination of originals and cover songs drawing on influences from finger-style, folk and jazz guitar. It was recorded in a 17-hour stint on the boat giving it a raw and organic sound - creaks and all.

To make the evening complete, you will be able to purchase (including a donation to MS-UK) specially reserved 'MS-UK VIP' seating right in front of the stage with a dedicated table waiting service (just like Ronnie Scotts!), plus a glass of something deliciously bubbly and a complimentary brochure signed by the musicians to remember the evening by.
Standard seating with concessions will also be available so there will be plenty of opportunity to donate as much as you wish to MS-UK and to buy CDs of the bands from the gig desk next to the
bar.

All proceeds from the MS-UK Virtuosity concert will go to the MS-UK charity.
MS-UK was established in 1993 and is a national charity dedicated to empowering people with
Multiple Sclerosis to make the most of today and to live life to the full.
