Diva Purple - All Female Tribute to Deep Purple + Julie Usher Twisted Blues + The Upsy Daisies

26th June 2020

DIVA PURPLE
June 2020 sees the fifty-year anniversary of the release of Deep Purple’s seminal album ‘In Rock.’ A generation on and their music is still being celebrated, this time by the all female group, Diva Purple. The UK’s first all female tribute to Deep Purple, consisting of five of the country’s top musicians, including Maria Verhelst, (Doctor and the Medics, former Circus of Horrors) Victoria Smith (The Ramonas) and Cara Bruns. (Colchester's own Surfquake).

Performing the Deep Purple Classics from a new perspective, Diva Purple focus mainly on the early 70’s material such as Speed King, Highway Star, Strange Kind of Woman, Child in Time and Smoke on the Water as well as a few of the older and more recent hits. So come celebrate Deep Purple, the much loved and influential Rock giants with the Speed Queens that are Diva Purple.

JULIE USHER TWISTED BLUES
Fronted by the exceptional Lead Guitarist Julie Usher. Julie Usher Twisted Blues Band play a powerful collection of original, sometimes quirky, songs with a few less commonly heard covers thrown in for good measure. The Twisted Blues Band are certainly not run of the mill and the music they play challenges perceptions and expectations of Blues music – a refreshingly different approach to a well established and well loved musical genre.

THE UPSY DAISIES
Named, bizarrely, after a somewhat surrealist children's T.V. show.....but don't be fooled by the name! The Upsy Daisies are a hard rockin', high energy blues / rock / funk combo featuring the impressive talents of four of the area's top players, all of whom have performed with a number of highly rated bands in the recent past. What do they play? Think Hendrix, Cream, Clapton, early Fleetwood Mac, ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Black Crowes, etc.

Tickets £10 / £8 concessions.
Doors open 7.30pm.
