Animal Noise + Ghosts of Men + Flip Top Head

14th May 2020

Animal Noise are Josh Sandifer on guitars and vocals, Nathan Marley on drums, and Matthew Hailes on bass and vocals. Singer Josh is from a small beach village in Suffolk called Waldringfield, Nathan and Matt are from Colchester, where they all met in and around the local music scene.

The experimental alt-rock trio come with their own unique blend of raw and high energy soundscapes, born out of the question:
How big a wall of sound can three people create?
Theirs is a music that aims for the whole body, while equally fascinating the mind.

The band continuously and carefully craft a sound for you to lose yourself in both live and on record, with their releases catching the attention of BBC Introducing early on by Tom Robinson championing their debut single ‘Baddow’, eventually achieving ‘Introducing Song of the Week’ on BBC Radio 1. Follow up releases have had the regular support of BBC Radio 6music, Radio X and BBC Introducing, fondly airing the band’s latest offerings as their sound continues to morph, expand and evolve.

Nicely heavy, dancey, two piece alt-rock from Essex. White Stripes, Royal Blood, Suicide, Black Keys, The Kills, Carter USM, the world of rock has seen a few two-piece bands that can overcome the perceived limitations of the a limited line-up, strip back to
essentials and really bring the noise. In fact, Les Carter from Carter USM said, “Ghosts Of Men are amazing. People always said that my old band made a big noise for two people, we cheated though, we had backing tapes. Clegg and Adam take it to a whole new level. Awesomeness drips from every note.”
