The Shackleton Trio *

28th January 2019

TrioThe Shackleton Trio are Georgia Shackleton (fiddle, vocals), Aaren Bennett (guitar) and Nic Zuppardi (mandolin). True and natural talents of the folk tradition, their brilliant self-penned material blends seamlessly with their imaginative yet authentic re-workings of traditional folk standards, influenced by British, American and Scandinavian folk traditions, with a regional twist from the group's native East Anglia.

The uniquely beautiful songwriting skills of Georgia Shackleton, combined with the vibrant, virtuoso instrumental brilliance of Aaren Bennett, Nic Zuppardi and Georgia’s pure and original folk voice have developed and matured through two critically acclaimed albums (The Dog Who Would Not Be Washed and new release Fen, Farm and Deadly Water) into a musical force just as likely to move you to tears as to move you to your feet.

After his 2018 releases, the 'Week of Bees' EP and 'Week of Cows (reworks)' both released on Metal Postcard Records, Lou Terry will be playing stripped back versions of his songs, accompanied by the incredibly talented cellist Malachi Siner-Cheverst.

'It is a rarity to find such obvious authenticity and broad, retrospective lyrics.'
