Juan Martin presents Dos Guitarras Malaguenas

22nd October 2015

Juan Martín presents
Dos Guitarras Malagueñas
with Chaparro de Málaga

A great tradition brought to today; pure, powerful and poetic.

Melodic and explosive, theirs is the visceral power of authentic flamenco improvisation; a musical dialogue between two masters of this great and esoteric art of flamenco.

You will be transported to the Classic Spain of Málaga, Granada, Córdoba and Jerez on a journey through the diverse cultures of Andalucia.

Incorporating a myriad of influences through from the gypsy culture of Rajesthan in Northern India, to the Byzantine chants, the Hebraic and Moorish laments, and from Spain’s colonization of South America - the sounds of Argentina and Cuba evident in the rumba, guajiras and milonga.

Flamenco has inspired many composers in the classical world and Juan and Chaparro will perform the famous Malagueñas of Lecuona and a version of Rodrigo’s adagio from the Aranjuez concerto.

Tickets £15 / £13 concessions.
Doors open 7.30pm, show starts 8pm.
