Mon 4 Spiers And Boden* 2011 marks this award-winning duo’s tenth anniversary. Both leading lights of the Big-Band phenomenon that is Bellowhead they are a stunning fresh and vibrant duo. Musicianship and inventiveness is a given with the lads delivering a big thumping night out with showmanship, humour and raw stomping energy.
Mon 11 Dana & Sue Robinson* Their music explores rural America with elegant simplicity, bringing roots and tradition to contemporary song-writing. Rich, intimate harmonies are supported by Dana’s powerful guitar and fiddle playing and Susan’s delicate, sometimes funky, sometimes haunting mountain banjo sound.
Mon 18 Mike & Ali Vass* Mike (fiddle, guitar, vocals) and Ali (piano, vocals) are among the best young exponents of traditional music in Scotland. Playing a varied mix of traditional and contemporary tunes, songs with close vocal harmonies and foot-stomping jigs and reels, their performances are bursting with energy, drive and vitality.
