Tonight's show has limited unreserved seating at the sides of the space, with dancefloor in the centre.
The Swing Spectacular returns for its second year of unmissable swing entertainment celebrating music and dance from the ‘20s to the ‘50s! After a sell-out night in 2016, jazz singer Lydia Bell and the Sweeting Swing Band are back to share all the glamour of the swing era with the Colchester Arts Centre, along with entertainment from a brand new Vocal Swing trio and dance demonstrations from sensational professionals.
This sparkling social occasion aims to bring people of all walks of life together with swing music, singing, dancing and more! Forget your troubles and swing, jive, lindy-hop and mambo the night away!
If your dancing shoes don't quite fit any more or you'd rather just socialise and listen to some great music, never fear, there is seating available, along with other exciting entertainment for you to enjoy, including a top drawer cocktail bar! However, you are advised to arrive early to ensure you get a seat.
'Swing-era' dress is warmly encouraged but not mandatory.
This year organiser and singer Lydia is supporting Emmaus Colchester by donating 50% of the profits of the event to this charity. Emmaus is a charity helping homeless people get back on their feet through community building, a cause which is very important in today’s society. Please consider this and spread the word about the event. See more about their work here: https://www.emmaus.org.uk/colchester
